Summer Fun with Taupo Bungy

Posted by isurvived, Friday 25 March, 2011

Hey there people!  Well, summer is almost over here in Taupo, New Zealand but the temperature is still warm with only a little rain today!  The crystal clear waters of the Waikato River is a great temp and the water touch option at Taupo Bungy is still proving to be a winner at the moment, even our staff have been taking off at lunch for a quick swim themselves.

Our staff are getting in some well deserved breaks away after a very busy holiday season!  We have had a fun summer with great staff and a lot of happy jumpers and swingers.  Lots of people opted to give their loved ones a Christmas present with a difference by throwing them off a 154 foot cliff on the end of a bungy cord.  We had some primo music acts in Taupo and New Zealand this summer topped off of course by The Big Day Out in Auckland which 4 Taupo Bungy staff were lucky enough to go to!  Rammstein was definitely my fav of the day – what a pyrotechnic show!  Tool, the main act, was why I went and didn’t disappoint with heaps of their best songs including Intolerance!  I can’t wait to hear some new Tool sounds in 2012 – bring it on!  Fly My Pretties played the same weekend in Napier with heaps of our staff heading there for an epic 7 hour set.

We are still busy here with heaps of New Zealander’s taking breaks from mahi and international tourists coming through for their thrills.  I think everyone has heard that Taupo is the events capital of NZ and that Taupo Cliffhanger is one of the best adrenaline activities on offer.  HAHAHA, I just looked out the window in time to see a guy doing a bungy jump in a blue jellyfish costume.  That definitely trumps the Borat mankini anyday! By the way, a mankini is like a bikini only it doesn’t involve an attractive female but usually an overweight hairy man wearing nothing but a G string with straps.

Anyway, on that bright note that’s me for the day!  Catch up soon with more fun stories of the trials and tribulations of Taupo Bungy and Taupo Cliffhanger – yea right, no tribulations here, this is the best place to work, come check out our primo site and you can see for yourself. Xxx

Maori Word of the Week:  Mahi – (noun) work, job, employment

JOKE OF THE WEEK:

Q: What does bungy jumping and prostitutes have in common?

A: They both cost about hundred dollars and if the rubber breaks, you’re in trouble!

NOTE:  Although Taupo Bungy uses their rubbers 500 times this is not advisable to try at home.
